LET'S JOIN HAND TO PRAY FOR GHANA Today we shall be engaging in fervent prayer for the land, people and Church of Ghana. Formerly called the Gold Coast, Ghana is Africa’s biggest gold miners after South Africa. It is located along the Gulf of Guinea and Atlantic Ocean in the sub region of West African. The name comes from the ancient Ghana Empire which means “warrior king”. They were the first African country to gain independence from the colonial powers in March 6th, 1957. They have enjoyed increasingly stable and deepening democratic governance, youth and gender empowerment. They are rich in mineral resources and endowed with a good education system and efficient civil service, they have also made significant progress in poverty reduction. Nonetheless Ghana began to have problems when they fell victim to corruption and mismanagement of national resources just after independence.
