That’s a really insightful query. Since Exodus 25:1–8, the earliest “fundraiser” mentioned in the Bible, God has made the decision to use His people to finance His work.
He instructs Moses in that text to collect an offering from each person whose heart moves them to give. And the secret is that! Naturally, God doesn’t require our money. But He does want our hearts, and He knows that our hearts will be where our treasure is.
