God is the God of peace and wants every nation on earth to have and live in His peace and well-being as we acknowledge Him and worship Him alone here on earth. God wants every nation to acknowledge and accept his only Son, Jesus, as Lord and Savior. Therefore it’s the Will of God that as his children we regularly pray for the peace and salvation of the nations of the earth.

What is intercessory prayer?

Intercessory prayer is a powerful way to bring God into the center of affairs of nations and help those in need, afflicted and suffering. When we pray for others, we ask God to intercede on their behalf. When we pray we ask God to intervene in their personal lives, family, home matters and more so help them in whatever situation they may face now and then. Intercessory prayer can have great impart and healing for the sick, the suffering, and the persecuted in every nation on earth. In essence, it is a way and means we stand in the gap and plead with God on behalf of love one or someone and a whole nation.

Why this Prayer Article

It’s because our intercession team is praying for God’s intervention and Lordship over many nations of the earth today. You may have personally witnessed the outcome of election turmoil in some countries, that Prayer for divine protection standing the Word of God in Psalm 91.

 You may have witness or being surrounded by countries that have experienced instability, civil wars, refugees and many more. To others being in class with some students who had witnessed the unimaginable are now refugees in another country. This is not by their freedom of choice but helpless and some are wondering and are asking, Why?

You will now begin to understand the urgency and importance of intercessors or prayer warriors that are willing and ready to stand in the GAB to intercede for and on behalf of peoples and nations of the earth.

Reasons why you should pray for the nations

 “Why is intercessory prayer so important?”

  • Prayer is one of the most powerful weapons we have against the forces of evil. It gives us a way to communicate with God directly and intercede on behalf of others.
  • When we pray for nations, we are asking God to intervene on behalf of those who are suffering. We ask Him to bring healing, peace, and justice to a broken world.
  • Prayer is a way for us to stand in solidarity with those who are struggling. It is a way for us to show our support and let them know we are thinking of them.
  • Prayer can be a powerful tool for change. It has the ability to bring regeneration and transformation of hearts and minds, and it can bring about real change everyone life and in the world we live and work today.
  • Praying for nations is one of the most important things we can do as Christians. It is our opportunity to make a difference in the world and be a part of God’s plan for redemption. Remember we are the light and salt of the world.
  • Intercessory prayers for nations are so important because they give us the chance to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. They give us the opportunity to join with God in His work of redemption and restoration of creation.
  •  Intercessory prayers for nations are one way that we can be salt and light in a dark and broken world.

So let us take advantage of this opportunity, and let us pray for the nations of the world.

Now Pray for The Nations 

1. Pray for the Peace of Nation

The Bible tells us that God establishes peace for us (Isaiah 26:12). When we pray for peace, we are asking God to intervene in areas of conflict and bring about reconciliation. We are also asking Him to protect innocent lives and help those affected by violence.

2. Pray for integrity

In Proverbs 11:11, we are told that we can build up our nation by living with integrity. When we pray for integrity, we are asking God to help us live lives of honesty and moral uprightness. We are also asking Him to give our leaders wisdom so they may make righteous decisions.

3. Pray for Transparency

In John 16:13, Jesus tells us that the Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. When we pray for transparency, we ask God to reveal any hidden agendas or corruption in our government. We are also asking Him to give us wisdom so that we may know how to respond to these things.

4. Pray for Social Justice

In Psalm 146:7, we are told that God “executes justice for the oppressed.” When we pray for justice, we are asking God to right any wrongs that have been done. We are also asking Him to give us strength and courage to stand up for what is right, even when it is difficult.

5. Pray for Mercy of God

In Micah 6:8, we are told that God is gracious and merciful. When we pray for mercy, we are asking God to have compassion for those who are suffering. We are also asking Him to forgive us when we have sinned against Him.

6. Pray for God’s Protection

In Psalm 18:2, we are told that God is our rock, deliverer, strength, high tower, buckler, horn of salvation and fortress. When we pray for protection, we are asking God to keep us safe from harm. We are also asking Him to give us wisdom so that we may avoid dangerous situations.

7. Pray for God’s Provision

In Philippians 4:19, we are told that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. When we pray for provision, we ask God to meet our daily needs. We are also asking Him to bless us so that we may be a blessing to others and nations.

8. Pray for Divine intervention and deliverance

This is based on Exodus 14:13, where Moses told the people “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.” In other words, we are asking God to intervene in the affairs of nations and to put an end to evil.

9. Pray for Blessing of God on those who do Good

This is based on Ezekiel 34:26, which says, “I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing.[a] I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing.” We are asking God to bless those working for the good of nations and give them the strength to continue doing good.

10. Pray that People’s Group would Love and know God

This is based on Psalm 67:16-17, which says, “Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. Let the nations be glad and sing for joy; For You will judge the peoples with uprightness And guide the nations on the earth. Selah.” We ask God that people would come to know him and worship him alone.

11. Pray for Holt Ghost Revival and Spiritual Awakening

This is based on Isaiah 60:21-22, which says, “Then all your people will be righteous and they will possess the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendor. The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the LORD; in its time I will do this swiftly.” We are asking God for revival and spiritual awakening in nations so that His name is glorified.

12. Pray for Growth and Expansion of Christ Church in the Nations

This base on Matthew 16:18. Jesus said “I will build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail again it”. The Lord Jesus means what he says. Pray that the local churches and it leaders will focus on proclaiming the holistic Gospel to all peoples groups and the sense of commitment to make disciples that make disciples.

Develop the habit of praying for others and nations of the earth and God will use you tremendously to accomplish the impossible task everywhere and anywhere.
