The Concept of Prayer Wall

“On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent; You who remind the Lord, take no rest for yourselves.” Isaiah 62:6 The concept of a Prayer Wall has its origin in the Wailing Wall, situated in Old City Jerusalem, Israel. The Romans nearly destroyed this wall in 70 A.D., which has been considered highly sacred by the Jews since the 2nd century, as it is the last remaining wall of the ancient Jewish Temple of Jerusalem. The wall’s antiquity and reverence has made it a place for people of ALL faiths to treat the wall as a “prayer wall”, leaving their petitions within the cracks of the ruins.
