The Concept of Prayer Wall

The Concept of Prayer Wall

“On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent; You who remind the Lord, take no rest for yourselves.” Isaiah 62:6 The concept of a Prayer Wall has its origin in the Wailing Wall, situated in Old City Jerusalem, Israel. The Romans nearly destroyed this wall in 70 A.D., which has been considered highly sacred by the Jews since the 2nd century, as it is the last remaining wall of the ancient Jewish Temple of Jerusalem. The wall’s antiquity and reverence has made it a place for people of ALL faiths to treat the wall as a “prayer wall”, leaving their petitions within the cracks of the ruins. However, a Christian Prayer Wall is different from the Wailing Wall in that ALL the prayers are offered in the Name of Jesus, the Name which is above all names, the name at which every knee and every need shall bow. The Bible tells us In Romans 10:13 that...

Christian Prayer Wall, What is it?

Christian Prayer Wall, What is it?

Many Christians, like me, want to enjoy an active prayer life. Wondering how to pursue a more fulfilling prayer life, I was reminded of a prayer wall. I’ve heard that Christian prayer walls are an avenue to make my prayer requests known and to discover the prayer needs of others. But I am wondering what a Christian prayer wall really is… and how can I even find one? What is a Christian Prayer Wall?  A Christian prayer wall is a designated place for people to post their prayer needs, usually in written form. In response, a surrounding community of believers will pray for the posted requests. Prayer “walls” can even be found online, amongst a community of believers, where one can find prayer requests from fellow believers on these sites. The origins of Christian Prayer Walls? The origins of Christian prayer walls are unknown. But we do know that prayer is a significant part of the active Christian lifestyle. Paul wants the Church to understand that we are...

INTERCESSION MINISTRY, WHAT IS IT?

INTERCESSION MINISTRY, WHAT IS IT?

When you look around at everything we are experiencing in our world, it can create a lot dismay: Racial injustices, hurricanes, earthquakes, terrorism, the prospect of war between nations, church shootings, youth suicides, sexual abuse, human trafficking and moral confusion. It leaves us wondering. What can I or we do? I’m just one person or we are just few. That’s when the Lord speaks to us and says, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.  Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.”  James 5:16-17 (NIV)  Is prayer really that powerful? E.M. Bounds said, “God shapes the world by prayer. The more praying there is in the world the better the world will be, the mightier the forces against evil.”  Dr J. Edwin Orr was a leading scholar of revivals. After extensive research he summarized his findings:  “There has never been...

The Call to Be a Full-Time Intercessory Missionary

The Call to Be a Full-Time Intercessory Missionary

The Lord is calling people to a full-time ministry occupation that I refer to as an intercessory missionary. I define an intercessory missionary as one who does the work of the kingdom from the place of prayer and worship, while embracing a missionary lifestyle and focus. Others may define this term in a different way. At CFWPC, as a rule, we ask those who embrace this full-time occupation of “intercessory missionary” to commit to fifty hours per week, including being in the prayer room for at least four hours a day, six days a week. People sometimes ask me what an intercessory missionary is and where it is in the Bible. In principle, this calling and occupation is found throughout the Bible. In this article, I will briefly mention where this calling is found in both the Old Testament and the New Testament, particularly in end-time prophecy, its presence throughout church history, and how it is being embraced today in contemporary...

Who is An Intercessor?

Who is An Intercessor?

Ministry of Intercessors I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth. ISAIAH 62:6-7 An intercessor reminds the Lord of His promises until they are fulfilled. To remind the Lord of His promises we must always be cognizant of what we know and believe about Him in our hearts. We must know His promises, both the promises found in the scriptures and the promises received by revelation – revelation that is aligned to the Word of God or aligned to the principles of the Word of God. We need to continue to grow in our knowledge and our faith in the character of the Lord as spoken of in the scriptures. This includes the belief that He desires to fulfill those promises and is capable of fulfilling them. An Intercessor is one who fights (or pleads) for Justice, to prevail...
